photo gallery
One thing I have not noticed on any micro-cms sites are photo gallery support. I can easily make a page with a lightbox script, but what about clients who make a new page with photos... why not have a script that you can click to embed for the non-html users? Or better yet, make a gallery widget.

Download option
I'd be far more likely to purchase this if it was downloadable so that I could install it on my own server. Any plans to release that?

Hello, is there a way for an editor to make changes to footers, headers... automatically added through a php "include" function ?

Brandable login page would be sweet
i think a Brandable login page would be sweet, rather than a generic one.

add container/div function
this is a big one. the editor needs a way to add and delete a container/div with a click of a button. this will come in handy, for example, with a catalog or product listings. currently, you have to add a set number of div/containers. this way, the editor can add or delete containers based on needs and make the page look nice and tidy.
this is pretty simple to do and will add a whole new dimension to Simple CMS.

Allow meta data editing
Would you like to allow your clients to edit the meta data on their website? Of course, this throws up some questions about SEO and the role of the designer in this. Would you want it as an option though?

Image upload path
Unless I'm missing something, I think it's really important to be able to specify where images are uploaded to using the CMS. At the moment the seem to be dumped into tmp, which is gonna get clogged up. If you could set an upload path for each site, that would be perfect!

implement a comment to hide certain page elements on the Content Editor
Flash is always on top of the Content Editor when in edit mode, so often gets in the way of whatever the editor is trying to to. Perhaps by making SimpleCMS recognise <!-- start hidden --> and <!-- end hidden --> comments and removing whatever is between them would fix this?
Cheers!

Help guide
Even though it is intuitive to me, perhaps a help section for clients would be good. Would save having to teach them

We understand and we’re working on this – we expect to provide a comprehensive support section by mid-May for both you the designer and your clients

Max characters for editable area
One thing I think would be great is to be able to set a maximum amount of characters based on the size o a div so that when just text is edited the layout of a page would not be altered.

Translations needed
We're looking for translators to translate the site into their mother tongue. We already have a German wanting to do it, but if you speak another language fluently, we will be happy to give you an unlimited account for life if you could help us out...

change style to stylesheet defined styles
I may have missed it, but would it be possible to have the style selector find styles defined in a css stylesheet, so that the user can apply my custom styles?

Enable code view in WYSIWYG editor?
It would be great if the WYSIWYG editor supported a code view for adding pure HTML!

Update an image with a link
Currently when I try to edit a zone with only an image within it I am only given the option to change the image itself.
I wish to be able to add a link on the image. It seems this cannot be done right now, or if it is it ain't working for me.

Little bug toolbar clients
Clients only can see a small part of the toolbar in the editor.. Permissions are set in admin account, but again they don't show up..

This is something we’ve approached in the new version which will be launching in the next couple of weeks – hold tight and this will no longer be an issue very soon.

images with an allign class
Right now if you insert an image you can align it with html. This does not validate. I would like to give it an align class so you can style it with css. For example it is not possible to give an image a margin only on the inside, that works on both sides. I dont like it fixing it with jQuery

keep the x bit state after edit to allow Apache XBitHack to work
when updating a .html file with SimpleCMS, the system currently clears the x bit (rwx......) on linux servers
this causes the server side includes using the Apache XBitHack to fail after the exit
